Hey there, I am one of two females on the first-ever Canadian Varsity Disc Golf Team and it has been a great honour!! Who would have thought I would find a new sport that requires no running?!!

September 2022 was when TWU launched this Disc Golf program. My disc golf journey had an interesting start. I was hesitant at first to even sign up because of how much I have on my plate. But the recruiters (who are now my teammates) made a bet with me the second time I walked past their booth. They said if I made the basket, I will have to sign up, and sure enough, I made the putt. I missed the first practice but showed up to the second and that was it for me. The disc golf bug bit me hard right then and there. I was terrible, but after 7 months of practicing and being coached by the most patient and caring coach, I am proud of my progress.

I have found so much joy in this sport and in getting to play with my teammates. This competition will be a fun one, especially since I get to play doubles with my teammate and also watch the guys compete. I am also looking forward to learning lots from the other competitors! See you soon Marion!
